Atlas Odyssey – Is a Cinematic DIVR Experience in Unreal Engine 5
First Unreal Engine experience ever built for the DIVR underwater system by BallastVR
Atlas Odyssey is a cinematic short, immersive sci-fi narrative experience developed for the DIVR platform, as the first Unreal Engine ever built experience for DIVR —BallastVR’s unique underwater snorkeling system. In this story, players awaken from cryosleep aboard a silent, drifting spaceship. With only their AI companion, Atlas, to guide them, they begin to uncover what happened during the centuries they’ve been asleep. A powerful ion storm, lost crew, and mysterious signals mark the beginning of an unforgettable journey through deep space—made even more surreal by being experienced while floating in real water.
I was responsible for the entire in-engine production process in Unreal Engine 5, including level setup, lighting, visual scripting, scene transitions, and cinematic timing. I also coordinated audio and voice implementation, working closely with sound designers and voice actors to ensure narrative clarity and emotional impact. Additionally, I oversaw the final render and optimization pipeline required for the DIVR hardware, ensuring perfect timing and performance underwater.
